  Welcome to Kar-Dean Farms, a family run fruit farm for over 70 years. The High family thank you for your interest in our pick your own sweet cherry operation. Our farm is located in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula, in the most ideal, cherry growing area, west of the Rocky Mountains. We are blessed with fertile soil and ideal climate conditions allowing us to produce great quality tender fruit.Farmer Dean, is the third generation grower, who operates the farm. He graduated from the University of Guelph in 1980 and took over the family operation. With the love of the land, his educational background,and his rich farming heritage, Farmer Dean nurtures and cares for his orchards using modern cultural practises and good old farming know how! Pick Your Own OperationWe plan to be open for Sweet Cherry Picking around the beginning of July. We cannot give a definite opening date as ripening depends on weather conditions. We will only open when the cherries are sweet enough for picking. We are open weekends only from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Saturdays and Sundays). The price for Sweet Cherry Picking will be close to last years price. There is a minimum purchase of $4.00/adult and $2.00/child which is payable before entering the orchard. This amount is deducted from the final purchase of your fruit. Containers are available or you can bring your own containers.
