Our farm was settled in the 1820s by William Forsythe, who came to Cedar Hill from Ireland. Devon and Lindsay are the eighth generation descendants of William and Suzannah Forsythe. The farm was originally a lumbering and saw mill operation. It has in turn been a dairy, beef, and sheep farm. The fruit crops were started in 1978 by Paul and Heather (Forsythe) Ralph and the Christmas Trees were added in 1988. Today, the farm is operated by Paul, Ria, and Devon Ralph. We have undergone another change in the farm operation. As of August 2011, Paul and Ria retired from the strawberry, raspberry, and corn business and are now concentrating on growing beautiful Christmas trees. Devon started a new career with the Ottawa fire department and has greatly enjoyed his first year. Ria and Paul built a new shop for the Christmas tree operation and are very excited about the coming season. Our family has grown at an incredible pace in the last seven years! We now have eight wonderful grandchildren ...a whole pruning crew!
