HISTORYBecker's Berry Patch was originally established in the Trout Creek area, and we produced our first pick-your-own strawberry crop in 1979. We later expanded to Nipissing, and opened with our first crop at the new location in 1985. Presently, our farm grows 10 - 12 acres of bearing strawberries, plus the annual new planting of 4 - 5 acres. There are approximately four or more different varieties of strawberries grown.PICK-YOUR-OWNOur delicious strawberries are usually ripe for picking anytime from the middle to the end of June, and the season lasts between 3 ¬Ω weeks to 4 weeks. The farm is open 7 days a week during the picking season (WEATHER AND CROP AVAILABILITY PERMITTING) from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. everyday.Customers can either bring their own containers (baskets or small pails are usually the best) or purchase 4 litre baskets at the farm for a nominal fee.Customers are whisked to the field aboard one of our two berry buses where they are then greeted by a field supervisor, and assigned a row to pick.READY PICKED BERRIESReady picked strawberries in 1 L or 4 L baskets are available daily after 10 a.m. at the farm, weather permitting.
