Staniforth Summerberry Farm

The Staniforth family has farmed in the Benalto area SW of Sylvan Lake for 92 years. We diversified into a berry crop in 2001 which is the main part of the farm that visitors see. The u-pick raspberry patch has been open seasonally to the public for seven years.‚Ä® Come out to pick your own Raspberries - red, black & yellow - and black and red currants. The bees are busy making honey and we will have our natural honey for sale for as long as supplies last. Picking Seasons                                    Raspberries (red,black and yellow) are in the field, u-pick only, call ahead to listen to message on phone or sign up for email and I will let people know when things are looking ready.  Generally from late July through August, again, depending on the weather, some seasons can go through to late August, best picking is usually between the first and third weeks of August.  Open daylight hours during picking season. No appointment is necessary. Red and Black Currants - generally ready about the same time as raspberries. We supply buckets, baskets and bags for your berries.  You can bring your own if you prefer.  Feel free to bring lunch.  Tables set up by the red shed to eat outside or throw a blanket down somewhere on the grass.  WATCH FOR SIGNS to field.
