Windwood Farms

Just over 40 years ago Ralph came home and announced to his wife and mother of his four children, that he had purchased a farm in the small town of Beamsville. Ralph was excited to show Alice the family's future home. After a short drive from St. Catharines, Alice and Ralph arrived at the farm.The location was breathtaking...situated on the Beamsville Bench, with the Bruce Trail running through the back of their property. The fruit trees were lovely set against the backdrop of the escarpment.Ralph led Alice to the farm house. As the two walked through the large old house, Ralph turned to see his wife's face covered in fresh tears. "Honey, I knew you would be happy, but to the point of tears?!!" Ralph exclaimed. Alice, looking around the dilapidated structure that her husband was so proud of exclaimed..."I don't want to live here, take me back home!"Well, Alice and Ralph did move their family to the farm and transformed the dilapidated house into a comfortable home, and the family worked the farm together for many years. As for Alice, her initial reluctance blossomed into a passion for farming and producing some of the most delicious goods that will ever touch your taste buds!!In 2010 the Frayne family began sharing their farm and their warm hospitality with the community by opening the property to the public as a pick-your-own and market. The farm has already become a traditional fall family outing for many wonderful families and groups.
