Green Mountain Haunted Hay Ride

We are the Tessaro Family. My husband Pat was raised on the farm. Pat's parents bought the eighty acre farm in 1950. There has only been four owners of the farm since 1789. Pat's dad passed away in 1988. Pat continued to farm cash crops (wheat, barley, hay and oats).In 1990 Pat and Colleen were married. By 1993 the main focus was still cash crops but we were planting vegetables for a pick your own operation. The farm was registered as Green Mountain Pick Your Own. By 1996 we were planting up to 50,000 tomato plants and various varieties of sweet corn, peppers and egg plants. We had two little helpers running around our feet by that time as well.We now have the haunted hay ride, a haunted barn, a pioneer village, corn maze, pumpkin carriages that go through once upon a time land, birthday parties, school tours and group tours. We continue to build the farm to entertain the thousands that come in each October. We have a great team that includes 30 people that work very hard to welcome and entertain everyone to the farm.In 2009 Our sons started growing tomatoes, peppers, sweet corn, melons and other vegetables for the Farmer's markets in Binbrook and Caledonia. They are continuing to grow vegetables again on the farm.
