Ontario, Michigan and New York State enjoyed a record breaking early spring this year that woke up the fruit trees from the winter dormancy. Then 6 nights of very low temperature caused front damage to the fruit buds. This year's fruit buds formed last year. Once they are damaged, they are finished for the year. The fruit trees themselves have started to push out some new leaves and are looking healthier. The frost damage is obvious on many varieties- they have virtually no flowers in them. Some look a little more optimistic. The catch is that we still have to get through bloom, set the fruit and make it past "June drop", (Nature's normal self-thinning of weaker fruit) before we have an idea of the total damage at Chudleigh's Apple Farm. As more fruit information develops, we will update our site. We will still be running a fantastic full program of events at the farm for your family farm experience. Pumpkins will be available in late September NOW OPEN: 10-5 EVERYDAY**INCLUDING HOLIDAY MONDAYS**UNTIL OCTOBER 31, 2012Orchard & Entertainment Area Summer Admission
