Bob and Bev settled in the Nicola Valley several years before finding Hoodoo ranch. They fell in love with the semi-arid climate and mild winters as well as it's abundant aboriginal and ranching history. Before finding Hoodoo Ranch, they purchased and restored the historic James Alexander Teit house in the small town of Spences Bridge, BC. After accomplishing this goal, they set out to find another project. On the hunt for property and with no intention of operating a farm, they stumbled across Hoodoo Ranch.Hoodoo Ranch was a 130 acre hobby farm that had seen more productive days. The ranch had been previously cultivated on it's many fields and river benches following the Nicola River, but had since been reclaimed by the surrounding Sagebrush and Cactus. The orchard was intact and had over 900 fruit trees. However, the trees required much pruning and repair. Some of the fruit varities planted are so rare they cannot be found on any other farm in the region. This held the seeds of inspiration for Bob and Bev, and although an absolutely huge project, they could not pass this oppotunity. Bev having been an avid organic gardener for decades, and Bob with countless years ranching, knew the Hoodoo Ranch offered an amazing opportunity.
