The Honeyberries are waving their soft buttery heads and inviting our wild bees for a visit. The Honeyberries that you will find when you come for a visit were initially genetically created at the University of Saskatchewan by using the sweet berry honeysuckle with honeysuckles from Eastern Siberia. We grow five varieties, all with a low suguar content - Berry Blue, Blue Belle, Cinderella, Borealis and Tundra. The plants range in height from three and a half feet to six feet. All varieties will be harested and ready for public picking late June early July depending on the weather. Haskap (honeyberry) picking opens approximately the last week of June, the Saskatchewan Cherries are generally ready for picking around the the last week of July for 6-8 weeks, The apples are ready for picking mid to late August depending on the weather. If one becomes addicted to the honeyberries that's okay as the are high in nutritional and anti-oxidant values and are loaded with Vitamins D,B, and E They are just darn good!We have a small Patio Cafe that serves tea, coffee, ice tea and light desserts along with a Gift Shop to browse. You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it in our park like setting. Our hours of operation are: Open every day except Tuesday, Wed to Mon. 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m,. It would be a good idea to call Prairie Perfect Orchards prior to coming to check picking times & availablity. Our website is growing! Check back frequently for growth updates.
